    1. Site is a little dead so thought I would post something.

I have been a long time PC user. Used to be really into case modding as well. Recently built my son a custom computer case. I am however in January making the move to an iMac. I have worked on macs before (back in the day) and have been waiting to make the switch for my daily/work computer. I love my PC as I've been a ton of money on it and time building it and will still be using it for gaming, however the mac will be my main computer. I'm not one who is switching to mac because Windows is a pain. I personally don't have problems with Windows. I ran 2000 Pro for awhile and now run XP 64bit (although I have Vista 32 on my laptop). The last time it crashed was over a year ago (and due to my fault, I was messing with video drivers and had the wrong one).

What do you currently use? PC or Mac? What OS if PC?

If you use a Mac, what are the things you like over Windows?

    2. PC user, Hardly ever used a mac. They're so nice and shiny though. If I won the lottery I'd have one, but I really can't justify the expense at the moment. I have 2 Dell desktops and a vaio laptop.

    3. The price is alot if you have a good PC that does what you need it to. I have a ton of spare PC's around the house (most now missing parts as I've ripped them when needed in other cases). I love the mac software, OS X, they are very slick and shiny looking. Might be weird at first as i'm used to my desk and computer being black (i'm a fan of black). Both my monitors, keyboard, and case are black. Not I'll have everything white besides my Dell 22" WS LCD (which i'll use as a second monitor on the mac).

Every year for about 4 years I look at the Macs and price them and plan to buy one but normally just spend a few hundred on upgrading my PC instead as the price starts to get to you.

    4. Same here pretty much. I'm going freelance from home next month. Just placed an order for 22" widescreen and 500GB external. Upgraded to 2GB ram a month ago, all this for a $500 Dell (new 18 months ago, it has earned it's keep).
Maybe when some decent paying work comes in I'll reconsider.

yeah im runing vista, on a 24" dell i just got a week ago. That extra desktop landscape makes a huge difference. I've heard alot of designers use mac's but i havent really used them all that much. I was thinking of buying a mac mini to use as a media center box, they look so slick and from what ive seen run applications really smooth.

    6. I use a Mac, I find using a PC is like having one hand tied behind my back, and with parallels I can test sites on PC using the same computer. There is very little difference in price if you get a top line Mac or a PC with the same specs - if you are capable of building PC's from parts then you will get the same spec for cheaper, it's beyond my capabilities though
