Hello I just had my site created DJsPaintingInc.com and am trying to learn about SEO. Of course the company that created the site is working on it but I would love to learn more on my own to assure they are doing the best job possible. Do you know of any books or articles that may educate me enough to get up to speed. Thanks and if any of you have time feel free to provide feedback on the site. As a small business owner I often have to learn from experts as we can not afford full time staff for such projects.

A great book that I use is: Building Findable Websites, ISBN: 0-321-52628-7, I got my copy at Barnes and Noble but I'm fairly certain you can get a copy from Amazon. It's about 240 pages -fairly small for a computer book - and is a quick read that will give you some background that you will find helpful. It's focus is Web Standards, SEO, and Beyond. Price was $40 U.S.

Even if you aren't doing the work it's wise to make sure the 'advice' you are getting is accurate. Knowledge is power; especially when you are the one paying someone else for theirs.
