does anyone know if you can or how to specify a fixed size for the crop tool?

    2. Honestly I am unaware if there is. From just a quick browse around I couldn't find a way, but I don't work much with the crop tool. I normally just resize the canvas. I might try searching around though.

What a great idea, this is the first I've heard of using the crop tool with a fixed size. It could come in very handy, hope someone finds out if its possible to-do I can't find it in any options.

My way, just incase there is no easy way is,
Make a document the size and resolution you want, open the file you want to crop, drag it onto your new correct size document and then "place" it where you want it, Flatten and save.

    5. On Photoshop cs2 you can constrain the cropping size using the control menu (along the top bar) by entering your dimensions and matching the resolution of your image.

Select the rectangle Marquee tool, choose "fixed size" in the control bar along the top, and enter your size. Then just move the fixed rectangle over your image, to choose the crop you want.

Then, just go to Image>Crop. Done.
